Google Cloud Community Day Nagpur 2022, the biggest flagship event of GDG Cloud Nagpur, was organized this year on 25th September 2022. It was a grand success for the organising team. The event was held at Persistent Systems Nagpur, and around 400+ engineering students and IT professionals attended it.
We all were overwhelmed to see the proactive response to this event as we received 2000+ registrations for the event. The entries were from 188+ different organizations. Onboarding only 400 of them was a tough decision we had to make. But we are happy to serve and promise to accommodate as many attendees as possible in our future events.
The event commenced on a high note with our in-house speaker and the lead of GDG Cloud Nagpur, Vedant Khairnar. We also had speakers from across the globe. Joinal Ahmed, AI Consultant at Google spoke about Machine learning which helped our audience to understand the Machine learning models, their security, and their importance in various scenarios. Then we had Nirdesh Chahal from Persistent Systems who gave some insights on how the future of Google Cloud might look like. The next speaker we had was Sangam Biradar from Deepfence, who made us all understand cloud-native security for GCP. We also had with us Avinash Upadhyaya from HashedIn by Deloitte touch upon Cloud applications using the operations suite.
We also had some international speakers who connected with us online. Jeffrey Coleman, who works at Amplinate spoke about the importance of networking and how to make it easier for one's career growth. Praveen Kumar Purushottam from Fitch Group Inc. gave us some insightful information on Cloud Computing and its scope in foreign universities. Lastly from our virtual speakers, we had Sergey Orshanskiy with us, ICPC World Champion 2004. He gave a roadmap to the audience on How to get started for ICPC World Championship and shared his journey.
The event included one more session dedicated to Google Crowdsource Community. The community is led by Aniruddha Khandwe and Tanishq Kamdi. Both of the speakers addressed our audience about the community and encouraged them to contribute to the community to help Google give better and more accurate results.
Also, one of our team members Aaliya Ali who was amongst the top 10 Global finalists in the Google Solution Challenge shared her journey. Her team was the only team from India to reach the top 10 this year, and such gems coming from Nagpur and representing our country were a proud moment for all of us. She addressed our audience and encouraged them to participate in such hackathons to gain experience and hands-on knowledge. Hosts of the event were the core team members of GDG cloud Nagpur, Rinesh Patil, and Samiksha Bharti.
We received an overwhelmingly positive response from our audience. The event played a pivotal role in bringing up the tech culture in Nagpur and more such brainstorming activities. Some of our audience shared their event experience, which proved that this event was worth attending, especially for the students looking for guidance and an entry into the tech community world. With this core team, we also onboarded a few volunteers from each college in Nagpur who played an equally important role in managing the event at its best. We're also extremely grateful to Rohit Bhargav, Rajeev Reddy, Nilesh Dhoble from Persistent Systems Limited, and our Community Partners, without their support this event wouldn't have been as successful as it was. Lastly, it was appreciable to have such a big crowd from all different States of India with great energy and eagerness to learn.
